While New Jersey was the state to lead the way in the overturning of the PASPA, it was actually the state of Delaware to become the first to accept legal single-game wagers outside of Nevada. As it turned out, Delaware had a leg up in the matter as they had been accepting sports betting parlays since the 1970s.

The state’s legislation and licensing were already in order and put Delaware on the fast track. As of today, the state has three brick and mortar sportsbooks up and running as well as their online industry in the works.

Statewide Brick and Mortar Sportsbooks

The three sportsbooks in operation are Delaware Park Casino, Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, and Harrington Raceway and Casino, and they all operate under one license in the state. Because all three operate under the same license, we probably won’t be seeing any more expansion in the brick and mortar space anytime soon.

Available Betting Apps in Delaware

While online sports betting is legal in Delaware, it is not offered as of yet. The state has been struggling to get the online industry up and running and still may be some time away from a successful product.

For now, the only online sportsbooks to be found are of the off-shore variety.

As mentioned, there is currently no timeline or launch date for legal online betting in Delaware. However, the success of online sports betting in neighboring states such as New Jersey is forcing the issue, and we expect Delaware to follow suit sooner than not.

Best Bonuses and Promotions

The only bonuses and promotions available in the state all fall on the individual sportsbooks and will vary from sportsbook to sportsbook, season to season, and sport to sport.

Sports Available for Betting

The sportsbooks in Delaware all have an American-centric approach to the sports made available for wagering. Whether college or professional, you’ll find all the football, basketball, baseball, and hockey you want.

There are some international offerings as well, such as soccer and auto-sports.

  • Football (NFL and NCAAF)
  • Basketball (NBA, WNBA, NCAAM)
  • Baseball (MLB and NCAA)
  • Hockey (NHL)
  • Soccer (MLS, Premier League, World Cup)
  • Combat Sports (UFC and Boxing)
  • Golf (PGA, LPGA)
  • Auto Sports (F-1, NASCAR)
  • Tennis

Payment Options

Cash, debit cards, and credit cards are all accepted at all three Delaware sportsbooks. Players have the option of using a kiosk or live teller to place and pay for wagers.
